Earthdiver wields oppressive yet anthemic hooks across a spectrum of sonic unrest ranging from crushingly dissonant harmonic doom to passages of cinematic decay.
Earthdiver is comprised of Adrian Benavides (vocals, guitar), Michael Day (guitar, backing vocals), and Eoghan McCloskey (drums, percussive textures). McCloskey is an in-demand session musician in Austin, Texas who has played on records which feature such greats as Tony Levin, Trey Gunn and Pat Mastelotto among others. Day, aside from his award-winning post-production work, is a sought-after recording and mixing engineer who has been working with Austin metal bands for over a decade. Benavides is a programmer, mixing engineer and sound designer whose work has been heard from the main stage at Coachella to venues across the US, UK, Europe and Japan.
While each member of the band has worked with a plethora of other artists in the capacity of supporting roles, they all approach Earthdiver as a chance to express themselves in ways no other project has allowed. As the Native American creation myth of the earth diver tells of creatures traveling the depths of our oceans to provide nourishment for our planet, Earthdiver digs deep into the elements of its musical influences to cultivate new life within the metal genre.
